As a Northern Wisconsin native and watersport enthusiast, lakes have always been of interest to me. As a current masters student, I am curious how lakes and the surrounding watersheds are changing naturally and as a result of anthropogenic actions. I am particularly interested in biogeochemical cycling and how these cycles may be changing over short and longer timescale. The majority of my work has focused on carbon gasses, such as carbon dioxide and methane, and how these gasses enter and leave aquatic ecosystems.
